Dear friends,
DFC.group & Munish Khanna Academy for Photography Learning commemorates “THE WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY” by announcing ’100% sponsorship’ for the full tenure of the Photography course. The selection process entails participation in the Photography Contest being organized online by the group. The selected few shall hear from us & be awared with the Scholarships for the Photography course in Delhi.
**Our original criteria was that person should be an active member of DFC on FLICKR or FACEBOOK for last one year but the regulation is being put aside for this contest.

As mentioned, 3 candidates will be selected and hence shall be honored and be entitled to receive the the theoretical knowledge and practical Photography Training under the guidance of well known photographer and most humbly acclaimed by the industry – “Mr. Munish Khanna”, who is also an Honorary Administrator for the DFC.group (Digital, Films & Camera etc.. – The online and offline group of Photography Enthusiasts)
*Details & Timings of the courses could be discussed with Mr. Munish by the selected candidate. So anyone who is working can also participate.

Your Flickr Photos Are Not Safe

There are a lot of people out there who are using flickr website for either personal or professional purpose. Those who use for professional purpose, have a huge amount of pictures on flickr and are regularly using the website to showcase their work to get more and more clients for their professional photography.
What if, you find out that anyone in this world can download you whole stream without any requirement to visit your photostream? Normally we think that the photographs on flickr can only be downloaded if they are available with all size option and one has to download them one by one which is a big pain. Recently I came to know about one software named FlickrDown which can download whole stream in one go! Please have a look on the following video to see how it works. I am demonstrating the software by downloading my photostream from flickr.
Now as you have noticed that all the pictures from the flickr profile got downloaded in a very little time. This can happen to anyone of you and anyone who is using flickr. The first thing comes to my mind was would my private pictures can be stolen like this? The answer is a BIG NO. For that downloader need to authenticate the software. Anyway, about the public pictures which can be a worth sell able, this can be a big time time drawback. You can not just private all the pictures. So to be on the safer side you can follow some steps to make your photographs safe over the internet.
The first thing you can do is not to upload the photographs in high resolution. In photoshop it can be easily done. Please follow the following steps to understand how to reduce the size of the image:
1. Open the image in photoshop.
2. Go to image >> image size or press Ctrl+shift+i (It won’t work in PS version below CS)
3. Change the resolution to 72. This will also reduce the Height and Width of the image. Now reduce the image size to width 1280 or lesser which ever suits you.
4. Now safe the image by pressing ctrl+shift+s and set the quality to 7 or lesser.
This will reduce the image quality to a limit which can be used for at least printing purpose. Please keep in mind that even the size is reduced, there are several software available over the internet which increases the resolution of the image. The above method can only save the image from newbies but not from professional thieves of your work.
To avoid such theft the only way out left is watermarking. There are several ways of water marking which an be found over the internet which can be used. I am explaining one out of them. You can read about it here and below can find video of how to do it in photoshop.
Hope this will help you a bit to understand that your pictures are not safe from theft over the internet. So be good in watermarking and do not listen to those who say “Watermarking is not good”.

Too much
Written by Anurag Bhateja on July 28, 2009 – 6:58 pm -Sometimes everything just goes beyond your expectations. Though today morning started early, everything was going fine, clouds are out there (Mood swings are there) but suddenly everything got changed unexpectedly. I came to know that I have proved myself a big time fool by trying to make someone that I care. What is the meaning of all this? Am a dumb A** to keep you updated of everything and ran for you here and there? Am a fool to care for you that much and then just because of one thing you just kicked me out of your life.
I have insisted a lot of times in my blog posts that if you are committed and are in love please let the world know so that someone else do not get hurt by such things. Every time I tried to calm you down you just blew everything like a bubble. Just because I was the one who said the magic words doesn’t mean that you have right to be angry for whole life. At least you can think over it once and think at what point I made you feel that I can be a trouble in your love life?
You removed me from your friend lists, do not pick my calls, do not reply to my messages or anything do not bother me much. They do, but not that much that I start messing up about you here and there. In life we meet a lot of people and fall for many and you can not deny that. Even if you are in love with someone, think once if you meet someone too good, did you never feel like may be the person sitting in front of me can be a better life partner? I bet you did feel like this for someone. If you can feel like this why the hell I can not feel the same for you?
Frankly speaking I have never expected such a behavior from you. If someone love you or care for you that does not mean that you should not talk to him/her. Oh come on! Do you think like this? Grow up.
Anyway, this is getting too much on my mind now. I think I need to break something and God please take this laptop away from me before I do something to it.
