Halloween is COMING!!

As the day is coming near, everyone who celebrate this occasion must be getting excited. Being an Indian, it does not mean that much to my surroundings but I love the way people celebrate it. The day is often associated with orange and black color and a freaky faced pumpkin is quite famous. I have seen pictures over the internet of those pumpkins so beautifully designed that the light coming out of them make it looks more attractive.

The movies, the stories and other stuff related to Halloween is quite interesting too. One of my friend living in US told me that they celebrate the occasion by throwing parties, playing pranks on friends and reading/listening to haunted stories. If they get a chance to visit a place which is popular to be haunted, then it a cherry on the cake for them.

Anyway, when I googled up the information on Halloween i.e. how it get started and what people do on the day, I find it quite interesting. Thought it started with a believe that on that day the barrier between other world and our world dissolves and evil spirits come down, these days it has totally changed the way it was. These days people dress up like freaks and ghosts, have parties, children go from door to door to collect sweets and much more happens on that day.

The amazing thing is the costumes. As we Indians have costumes for different occasions, the festival has its own tradition for the costumes. people go and buy costumes and especially those adult pirate costumes are really something to spend money for. Also there are stores which provide specially designed costumes for couples. When you look for couples Halloween costumes, you will find a huge variety of them.

Overall celebrating something different like Halloween must be a great experience. So its time to go out, shop and get ready for the blast on the day!!

Paypal Customer Care – Hats Off

Lets see… its been for four years, I am using paypal services for sending and receiving money from my clients and sometimes buying some scripts etc. Yesterday, somehow my account got limited and showed error that some third party accessed my account. As their security measure they limited my account and I was able to receive money but not send. In order to remove the limit I was asked to update some information and upload address proof. I did but it was day time in India but night in USA.

After consulting a friend Amit Bhawani, I decided to call them in late evening and I did. After moving me thrice from one representative to another, I talked to a very calm voice who asked me to verify a few things and then asked to wait for few minutes. Then he came back on line and said “okay, I can see you have called for the limitation on your account and I have removed it.” Thanks to his “American accent, I was not able to understand the last few words and I said, “Yes, I can see limitation and wanted to ask when it will be removed as I have uploaded the documents required.” The reply was ,”Sir, I have removed it.” I was like “Did you? So fast???” and when I checked I was flat. The service and quick response from them is simply awesome!! It hardly too 10 minutes overall to solve the issue.

I remember how difficult is getting things resolved from ICICI call center or how irritating is calling BSNL. I think they should learn how to handle clients from paypal people. I am impressed, amazed and too happy that I am using a service provider like them who take care of everything as experts.

Checking Background Of A Person Online

Seems like a big time fight huh? For India it is. But what about countries like US where people remain online as a part of their lifestyle. Yes, in some parts of world it is possible to get detailed information about a person living around you. The information is just a few type and clicks away!! First let me tell you what exactly happened, then I will come to the point where I will discuss the website I was looking at.

As everyone knows, my work is totally dedicated to being online. I eat just because I stay online. I was looking for something interesting as the things were getting a bit bored and a little shock of excitement was highly required. So I started looking for stuff here and there and then I found a website which has information and knowledge base about finding information of people and their record online. Things like if s/he in indulged in a crime or not, where s/he stayed and information like this. At first glance I found it a bit weird to find information so wide but then I realized that basically there is no harm.

The website is basically dedicated to checking peoples backgrounds. When I tried to dig website more, I found very informative articles which were based on the guide on how to dig information both online and offline. An interesting example was about the tenant in which the writer described how to go ahead and ask the present landlord about the habits of the tenant and how to look for information over internet if possible. Simple questions like Have their children marked all over the walls?, the number of times the tenant has been late on their rent payment, etc can be a big time savior as getting a good tenant is as same as purchasing a good quality land.

The more I surfed the website, the more I realized that there is hell lot to be kept in mind while being in contact with anyone and sometimes small steps and small pieces of information can save both time and money. Suppose if you are in a business and you are going to make a life time deal with some person and after making the deal you found that he is a fraud? Hazardous thing right? In this case if you have done a background check in the market, banks and other places like this including the person’s previous partners, you will be able to make up your mind on how to go ahead.

This thing can not be stopped to just tenants or partners. You should do the same practice for your would be life partner, your child’s would be life partner, your physician, employee and even Nanny for your child. Just keep in mind that this is not at all a bad practice but is only a way to be on the safer side.
