Starting A Website – Its Easy!

Written by Anurag Bhateja on October 7, 2009 – 9:29 am -

Yesterday, I met a friend who was eager to start a website for some extra cash in his pocket but was a bit confused on several things. I remember when I started working in this field, same things got into my mind and I faced a lot of problems with the first service provider. It was my fortune that I got a better option and I am still with the company which helped me a lot in increasing my business.

Anyway, I thought why not share a small piece of information with you so that while looking for a hosting service or a place to promote your website, you have some points in your mind. First of all after choosing and registering a domain name a trustworthy web host is a must. Also for not so techie like me, managing a server can a big pain so it is always better to go for a managed web host.

The thing you should keep in mind that you have to choose the right web hosting provider so that in long run you do not find issues with your website like downtime or spam. The best way to look it to choose a list of service providers and then google for their reviews by users. Reviews and testimonials on the website are not worth to trust on.

Once you are done with the hosting thing, you need to promote the website/blog after adding a number of posts on it say 10 posts or if it is a business website than after adding the information you need to give. One of the ways to promote your website is to go for business directory. There are a lot of them over the internet where you can buy or post link for free.

Rest you can go for link buy, link exchange, search engine submissions, feed submissions and a lot of other things. In future posts I will discuss them also. Till then take care and keep surfing :)

Chillisauce.co.uk The Event Masters

Written by Anurag Bhateja on October 2, 2009 – 7:17 pm -

Few hours back, a friend from UK requested me online to look for a good event management company which can help him to organize a stag party. Being in India, looking for a company in UK was kind of tricky as per my thoughts but after a little search here and there I came across a very nicely made, easy to navigate website named chillisauce.co.uk. At first glance I took it as just another event management company but as I go through it the whole mindset was changed in fraction of seconds.

Let me first tell you something about the company. Chillisauce is working in the event management field from last nine years with over 50k customers! The support desk of the company is pretty good and they reply very quickly to the questions asked by the clients. The company Chillisauce holds five different sections of events named Stag weekends, Hen Nights, Activity Weekends, Ski Holidays and Corporate Events. If you scroll the website, you will find it pretty easy to see whats in the package, what they are offering and what could be the price. For e.g. say I want a stag weekend with Paintball Man event which will include Bar & Club Party Pass, Lap Dancing in Style ( ;) ), Paintball Day, Guest List Club Entry and accommodation for two nights, it will cost starting from just 99 Pounds!

The packages and event included in the package are according to the need of the client and are quite affordable. Another thing which interested me a lot is Ski Holidays. They are offering the event in Austria, Canada, France, Switzerland and USA. Having tie up with number of resorts, they allow you to book the package according to your needs and pocket size.

Special packages, offers, discounts make the holiday a lot more fun than you can expect. While looking for ski holidays, I found that detailed information about the resorts/hotels are given on the website which make it more attractive as I can read all the possible destinations and also can decide what to choose which will suits best to my needs.

Overall the experience on their website is pretty good and the events look affordable. The happening parties or the corporate wine and dine, they are ready to offer from anything to almost everything. What I can rate them is 9.5/10 for their service and ease of usability of the website.

Keep partying and happy holidays!!

Changing Small Silver Screen

Written by Anurag Bhateja on September 23, 2009 – 11:09 am -

1980, when I was not even born, Television was introduced in India. At that time there was only one channel Doordarshan which is still fighting to survive. The Hindu Mythological stories Ramayana and Mahabharata made a remarkable place in almost everyone’s heart. That was the time when “Nani ki Kahaniyan” about the evergreen characters Hanuman, Ram, Krishna etc were dying as the time was changing but these serials played a vital role in writing the names in mind of youngsters.

After that programs like “Hum Panchi Ek Daal Ke”, Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne” and some others were all time favorites of every single TV lover. Those serials pointed the lifestyle of common man of India. Then came the time of Circus, Army in which our dear SRK acted.

In 1991, Star TV and MTV the two private International channels hit the Indian market after which SUN TV was th first Indian Private channel. In a very short span of time the whole concept of television was totally changed. 24×7 news channels are now making stories out of nothing. Even if a cat is stuck on a tree then its a National breaking news! Anyway, the time of “Kyunki Sass Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki” and “Kaun Banega Crorepati” was something which attracted almost all classes and the lavish rich class was demonstrated in the serials. After 5-6 hours there was so many mouths which were saying bad words for these serials as they were no longer related to any Indian family and customs.

Then came two channels which totally changed the face on TV. Colours and NDTV Imagine produced so many great programs which targeted those issues which are in the Indian Society for so long and no one was having a look on them. Shows like Balika Vadhu, Na Aana Is Des Meri Laado, Bandini are a few of those which are much better and more realistic than those stupid serials.

Another root of Indian Television Industry is reality shows. Shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Dus Ka Dum, Indian Idol, Sarkaar Ki Duniya, MTV Roadies, Big Boss and some other have worked very hard on increasing the relation between the viewers and the channels.

These days you can buy on TV (Home Shop 18), you can call Pandits to ask questions (some are though very stupid), you can call news channels and tell them your views, programs like city journalist have made the bond between viewer and channel very strong. Children targeted channels have made it very easy for children to learn a lot like of alphabets, identifying object, learning skills in painting etc. Programs like MAD (POGO), FAQ (POGO) are very interesting and interactive.

Though, these channels are very good, programs which are aired these days are interesting but they are on the other hand making us to sit and see. Our walking capabilities are reducing. The only thing we need to do is to give our body some time and to spend the energy on walking and playing too. Children who watch TV should be encouraged to go out and play also. You can encourage them to join some sports academy, dance classes, singing classes and much more.

We should also make sure that the channel they are watching are for them not for adults. Some cartoons have so much action which may have very drastic effect on their mind so if your child is watching TV make sure you have an eye on them. They may ask you to buy things which they really do not need so in that case you must tell them politely that the particular thing has no need as for now.

As all know, sex is being served on TV a lot these days. Though the censorship is strong enough to control them but if still they ask some question related to it you should not just make them shut up. You should tell them thing according to their age factor. Every child in certain age needs proper knowledge of it. You can consult a sexologist on how their questions should be treated.

Overall TV is good but under surveillance :)
