APGD (Acquired Photographer Gene Disorder)
Written by Anurag Bhateja on August 4, 2010 – 12:56 am -APGD a.k.a Acquired Photographer Gene Disorder is one the most epidemic disease in the world. It is contagious and spreads too quickly from one person to another. Most dangerous micro organisms that causes this disease are Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji and Olympus. Less dangerous forms are found in form of MOBUG in Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and LG. The body structure of these organisms consist of MMC, LENS etc.
When you or someone around you get this disease there is no cure for it. The following are the symptoms:
- You find your Canon/Nikon babe more sexy than your gf/bf.
- You try to figure best angle while talking or even making love with your mate

- You like click sound better than moaning

- You will try to get the best facial expressions from your loved one even when s/he is shouting on you and even interupt him/her by saying something like “no no! the previous expression was better!”
- If you fall with your camera you will first look at the camera and then on your scratched.
- When ever your friend falls, your first words often are “shit I missed!!”
- You will start talking in photography language as described below:
- The girl sitting in front is under exposed/over exposed.
- Hey look! change the aperture man! the girl behind this one is better!
- Hello! have you checked your shutter speed? You need to increase it! you are very slow!
- Upgrade your body man! you can do better with something like 5D mark II !! No girl will look to you if you keep on dressing up like some point and shoot!!
- I think I should change my bf/gf now. S/he does not even know about what L series is!! F**king nikon lover huh!!
- I wish I could have 800 mm lens fitted in my eye dude! look at the hot chick there!! Ya!! with camera in her hand right? What?? oh there is also a girl standing there. Never noticed! I was staring at D90 all the time! HOTTIE!!
- I think you need to change the aperture value. At least you will keep the the things around in focus too then!
- What a shame! How come God forgot to put a macro lens in my eyes! Damn pin… how will I find it now

- Hey the movie is awesome man! Bokeh effects in some scenes and the low angle shots were awesome! have you noticed the light trails when it was in slow motion? Amazing work of photography. I think night shots could have been better if they used smaller aperture….
Cure: None found till date. Even a gf/bf can not distract the person from camera.
Any medicine to reduce the effect: Meditation may help but in many cases it increases the concentration and patient stopped even listening to people around him/her. They develop superior sensitive ear and eyes and start looking at every thing as if they are capturing it.
Long term effects:
- loss of appetite.
- loss of lover.
- loss of money (too expensive equipments :P

Disclaimer: This is just a joke. A funny thoughts of a photographer (thats me). Nothing serious out here.
so chillax and keep clicking ![]()

Photographs Never Happen! Really?
Written by Anurag Bhateja on December 29, 2009 – 6:50 pm -
Photography, an endless universe of possibilities. The only thing you need is passion towards the thing in your hand. The sound of shutter is as exotic as moaning
as it excites you. Like the words, photographs speak. They sometimes, speak louder than words.
Now, I have heard this phrase many times that photographs are always created. They are created the the person behind the camera. The hidden mind evaluates, calculates and then press the button to capture the moment. Okay, agreed. To make a good sell-able/exhibit-able photograph, we need to do a lot of work but sometimes the shutter is pressed ever without looking in to the eye piece! Also what about snapshots. They are also a form of photographs.
I was reading some tips on street photography on a very reputed website where one point said something like “If you are clicking on street, learn to click blind shot and never take heavy equipments with you to avoid attention of people around you.” What should we call this? Planned shot? I do not think so. These shots are not planned and just happen.
Whenever you go somewhere for a shoot either alone or in group, you decide to click some particular theme and sometimes the best shot of the day comes to be out of theme of the day. Now in this case you have neither planned for that particular shot nor you were ready for it. IT JUST HAPPENED!!!
I am not saying that all photographs just happen as many big shots photographers plan for everything but I want to say that there are possibilities of “Just Happened” shots around us and we need to be ready for them, always. Carrying your camera, being quick in getting ready for the moment in front of you and pressing the button on the right time is the key to best photograph of your life.
Go out and click. Sometimes enjoying the passion plays better role than planning the passion ![]()
