English Or Hindi?
Written by Anurag Bhateja on September 10, 2009 – 10:53 am -A question which is common in almost every Indian who uses both languages to communicate. We, Indians have so many languages which we use daily for conversation. English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and the list will move on and on and on but still it is said we are bound to speak English as it is “Universal” language. Those who do not have good hand in English are seen with a different eye and treated as “downmarket” people.
But think of it. You are talking about your National Language and Mother tongue. Is using those languages a “downmarket” thing? I remember the time of Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who went to other country and gave his speech in Hindi rather than using English. Unfortunately, before him, no PM tried it! When any other countries’ minister or some great personality goes anywhere, they use their language and an interpreter is with them to translate but we, the GREAT Indians feel sorry for those who uses Hindi or any other mother tongue while talking!
I was thinking, what could be the reason behind this behavior? The reason is our so special nature which adopts everything from other cultures without thinking the impact of it. If you are net savvy, you will figure out the importance of Indian languages as Google and other companies are working very hard on it. Google has introduced writer which helps in writing in Hindi and other Indian languages. They can understand the importance of our languages but we can not. We think speaking English is OH MY GOD! and Speaking any Indian Languages is Oh
. Right?
Think over it my dear Fellow Countrymen. Respect your languages.

Self Portrait
Written by Anurag Bhateja on May 15, 2009 – 11:12 am -
Self Portrait, originally uploaded by Anurag “Is busy!”.
This is first trial of self portrait in natural light. I have used the sun light coming from door. Here the texture of grey lines is the steel jaali attached to the door.
As a first trial I am not sure if it came out according to the requirement in my mind but I am sure about one thing that I am going to continue this self portrait for now on.
The next experiment will be with a little look change which I am planning for today and I am too scared of mom because she is gonna kill me definitely for the thing I am going to do hehe.
