Interview With Bhagat Singh

Written by Anurag Bhateja on March 20, 2009 – 6:26 pm -

Whatever the case is, Congress or BJP or other groups, all are working on same platform of grabbing more and more votes. All parties are forming groups and trying to divide the people on the basis of their casts and religions. Is this the India our freedom fighters dreamed of? Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekar Azad, Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, all of them thought of a better India and tried their level best to get India to the heights. But what we all are doing now?

From last few days I am keeping an eye on what is happening in Indian Politics and where are the Politicians going for the sake of votes. Being a big time admirer of Bhagat Singh, I thought what could be in his mind if he looked at all this.

So I thought why not get an imaginary interview with Bhagat Singh and try to look what we can do for our country.

Me: Namaste Bhagat Singh ji. I hope you are keeping good eye on what your fellow Indians are doing these days.
Bhagat Singh: Yes, I am aware of what is happening there.

Me: Bhagat ji, can I have your thoughts over the past years till these upcoming elections?
Bhagat Singh: You know what? Everything is going as same as I was afraid of. When we were fighting for freedom, the situation at that time scared all of us as everyone was thinking in their own lines and were working as they like to do the particular action. I always tried to convince them that we have to be together and work as one force but unfortunately what happened at the end was India got divided into three parts. Every shot which was fired by a brother on a brother was a shot on other freedom fighters’ and my souls. We cried on each death and think were we wrong?
No matter it is the division, 1969, 1971, Kargil or something else, our souls were bleeding with every drop of blood that came out of the bodies of innocent people who are fighting for the sake of politics, just bad politics.
The internal situation of India is even worse. Brothers are fighting on the name of religion. Even a small chat results in communal riots. 144 have become so common these days as it is an integral part of every Indian’s life.
I do not understand why people of North East and East India are treated as guests in other parts of India and why politicians in a state can not tolerate people from other states?
I do not understand why Hindus can not live with Muslims as said by many politicians? Why only one community is targeted when riots are over?
If a Hindu can go to Gurudwara or Mosaic or Church and same with Muslims, Sikhs and Christians, why riots happen? On one day they are eating and playing together and on the other day they are killing each other? We all celebrate Holi, Diwali, Eid, Christmas and other festivals. I see Hindus keeping roze very often and Muslims participating in different Hindu festivals. In common days they are just Indians.

Me: Same thoughts are in the minds of every common man in India but some people in India and abroad do not want us to live together and happy. Have you been watching the latest activities of politicians for upcoming elections?
Bhagat Singh: Very true. Yes, I am watching every step very carefully. I am watching these so called “Netas” throwing money to buy votes and members of other parties. I am watching them trying to lead the thoughts of communities and make them feel that only a Neta can help them in getting them over the other problems created by other community. I am watching the people who have problem in seeing a Hindu playing with Muslim and want to tell them that they are born enemies!
Terrorism is yet another a big flaw in Indian Securities and that’s also because of poor management by people in Govt. Those who are not in Govt. can only force their thoughts and blame the ruling party but what about the time when they were in power, is not a questionable question for any political party.
I do not see any girl or even a boy in this time who do not have a line of fear on their forehead. I do not understand why security forces are not acting strictly against those who are responsible for creating such and unsafe environment.
I remember each and every attack by terrorists which had shook the Indians. I do not want to salute the public who again start their life by “adjusting” themselves to the situation but need them to act.
I am keeping a very keen eye on Lotus and Hand and want to tell them that “Please stop what you are doing for the sake of votes. Don’t forget you are just an employee to public and if someday common man gets angry, you all will just get a lesson by loosing all the powers.”

Me: Bhagat ji can I have some final words for the Indians?
Bhagat Singh: India and Indians are a big power in their own. They can conquer and part of the world and can tell what they are. They just need a moral support which every Indian can give to Fellow Indian. India is not of Hindu or Muslim or Sikh or Christian. It is of Indians and we have to think what we want to make it. A superpower or a puppet in hand of some aged freaks who think they can rule India.
I remember the days of Lal Bahadur ji, Indira ji, Rajiv ji, Atal ji as PM and remember the powerful presence of Rajendra Prasad ji, Giani Zail Singh ji, Shankar Dayal Sharma ji and A. P. J. Abdul Kalam ji as president. We need the same spark back. We need young boiling blood same as the time of freedom fight. We need soldiers, farmers and IT people to work together to make India a better place to live. Yelling in crowd for personal rights can not give anyone anything. You have to prove yourself to be an Indian. Stopping corruption, riots and controlling politicians is in the hands on every Indian.
I personally request every single Indian to go and vote. Feel the power of the ink on your finger and tell them that you exist. You can and you are controlling them. If they are going to be in power, it is just because of you and they have to make your country a better place to live. They have to get jobs for you, make roads and places to live, give equal rights to everyone and give best facilities to general public. It is their duty and your right.

Me: Thank you Bhagat ji. Hope to see you soon after elections.
Bhagat Singh: I am always there for my country. Jai Hind.
