Written by Anurag Bhateja on August 4, 2008 – 3:55 pm -All photographers are aware of getting their images used over the internet. One of the recent case I saw is this http://flickr.com/photos/twilightfairy/2720464496/ . Now getting a copyright written on image will make it a bit safer. The easiest way is to write the name somewhere on the picture but to get it embedded you need to know a bit of photo editting softwares like Photoshop. Now after giving final touch to your image in photoshop follow the following steps to give a good to your image.
1. From toolbox under text “Horizontal Type Mask Tool” or “Vertical Type Mask Tool”.

2. Click on the Image to write text. The screen will get red and you can the blinking cursor on the screen. Now write the phrase like “ Anurag Bhateja” (To get press Alt+0169 (Numeric pad in normal keyboard and Alt+fn+mjo9 on laptop keyboard. mjo9 makes 0169 from numeric pad.)

3. Now click on move tool from tool box.You will see space selected in shape of text.

4. Now press ctrl+c or copy from edit menu. The press ctrl+v or paste from edit menu.
5. You will see a new layer there. Now to that layer click on “Add a layer style” >> “Bevel and emboss”. Settings to Style: emboss, Technique:smooth, depth:1000%, Size:0, soften:0. Press OK. If you want to give outer glow its a good choice also with bevel and emboss.

6. Upload to your favorite photo sharing site like flickr and enjoy.

Tutorial — Capturing Moon With Texture
Written by Anurag Bhateja on April 24, 2008 – 11:28 am -Moon is always a source of inspiration for poets, photographers and children. Now shooting the moon with cam is tricky and needs a stable hand to work with, which means you need to practice a lot. Now as moon is only visible in night long exposure is required as there is no enough light. I agree but when we increase the exposure the texture gets vanished and we are not able to click proper textured shot of moon. Here in this image I managed to get clear shot of moon with texture as a very small tricks work here. Please note you must be aware of manual mode for this shot otherwise or the cam is on auto or program, the texture will not come.
1. Now first of all get ready with the with settings Exposure: 1/300, f/3.2, ISO 80. These setting may vary according to time, place and month as in every month the distance of moon, the light and surroundings vary so the shutter speed may go up to 1/60 or may go down to 1/400.
2. Switch off the digital zoom as it will make image look broken.
3. Now the tricky thing is getting the cam stable. You have to either put it on tripod or on some stable place. I have used a table with a block of wood to get tilt in the cam.
4. Set the timer to 2 seconds so that the image do not get shaky.
5. Click it and test several shots with different settings.
Enjoy the moon!

Night Shots — How to get extra odinary light effects
Written by Anurag Bhateja on April 23, 2008 – 11:00 am -On This image Nitin Bhadhwar from My Flickr requested for tutorial on how to get such kind of shots. So Nitin ji here it goes.
1. This kind of shots are possible in night as well as in day time. In day time if you want to play with lights then you have to search for places where light is getting obstructed by some sort of living or non-living objects like trees or buildings. In night time you have to search for a place where high intensity lights are there with same sort of things which can give light a cool effect.
2. As this image is a night shot the settings that are used will be suitable for night shots only. Prefer there should not be any moving object in the frame for that particular time slot as if there is a moving object the image will get blurred.
3. After searching for the appropriate place make yourself comfortable and also set your camera either on a tripod or on a smooth surface where it should not get any jerks. Don’t keep your camera in hands.
4. In manual mode set your camera on Exposure/Shutter speed-13s, F/3.2, ISO-100. This setting is according to the availability of light at the place. You should play with the settings to get more crisp shot. Set the timer to 2 sec, press the click button and remove your hand away and let the camera work for you now.
5. After the shot get some more shots with slight changes in settings and see which comes better.
